Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NextScore (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use NextScore.ng (“the Service”). We aim to comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and applicable data protection principles.
1. Information we collect
NextScore does not currently require account registration, and we do not directly collect personal information such as your name or email address through the Service.
Information collected automatically:
- IP address and approximate location (country/city level)
- Device type, browser type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time spent, and general usage patterns
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see our Cookie Policy)
This automatic data is collected through standard analytics and advertising tools and is generally aggregated or anonymized. We do not collect sensitive personal data such as financial account details, government ID numbers, or health information.
If we introduce features in the future that require you to submit information directly (such as a newsletter signup or account creation), this policy will be updated accordingly before that feature goes live.
2. How we use your information
We use the automatically collected information described above to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- Understand usage patterns to improve match analysis and site performance
- Serve relevant advertising through Google AdSense/AdMob and other advertising partners
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Third-party services we use
NextScore relies on third-party services to operate:
- Football data providers (e.g., API-Football, TheStatsAPI): supply match data, statistics, and historical records. No personal information is sent to these providers, only match/team queries.
- AI analysis providers (e.g., Groq): process match data to generate analysis. Data sent for analysis does not include personal information about you.
- Google AdSense / AdMob: displays advertisements and may use cookies or device identifiers to serve relevant ads. Google’s own privacy policy governs their data practices.
- Analytics providers: help us understand how the Service is used through aggregated, non-identifying usage data.
Each third-party service has its own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review them where relevant.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, analytics, advertising)
- If required by law, regulation, or legal process
- To protect the rights, safety, or property of NextScore, our users, or the public
- In connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition), with notice to you where required
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, analytics, and advertising. See our separate Cookie Policy for details on the types of cookies used and how to manage your preferences.
6. Data retention
Since we do not collect personal information directly, there is no personal data for us to retain beyond what our analytics and advertising providers automatically process, which follows their own standard retention periods.
7. Your rights
Under the NDPR and general data protection principles, you have the right to:
- Access any information we may hold that relates to you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of any information associated with you
- Object to certain processing of your data (e.g., by adjusting cookie/ad settings)
Since NextScore does not currently collect personal information directly, these rights primarily apply to data processed by our third-party analytics and advertising partners, which you can also manage directly through your browser and Google’s ad settings. To make any request or ask a question, contact us at support@nextscore.ng.
8. Children's privacy
NextScore is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have done so, we will delete that information.
9. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International data transfers
Some of our third-party service providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure your information continues to be protected in line with this policy.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above when changes are made. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact
